The Price of Saying Yes
Do you expect a dog not to bite when it is threatened? A cornered dog is not a safe dog. When you rescue a dog, do you blame the dog for its behaviors?
When you rescue a horse, do you blame the horse for its defense mechanisms? When a horse runs away to try to escape from the hands of its master, does the master blame the horse or does the master look at himself?
If training and technique is not working, does the master consider his companion, be it dog or horse, a lost cause? Or does the master take responsibility and adjust accordingly?
Adjustments are necessary, even mandatory.
No two animals, when acquiring companionship, are ever treated the same. No two animals are ever the same. Though training and technique is adjusted to fit the needs of the animal, be it horse or dog, the outcome is always the same.
Loyalty - Trust - Respect
Without adjustments on the Master’s behalf, one or all of these outcomes become weak.
Man never asked to be created (Genesis 1:26), yet got trapped in their mistakes (Genesis 3:6), thus being doomed to a fallen state (Genesis 3:16-19).
The Bible tells us a story of God taking responsibility for His creation (John 3:16).
God took responsibility, by sending Christ, even if the result of the mistakes were the cause of man.
That is the price of saying yes.
